Singer Songwriter Jamie Bevan

“He’s not quite a household name yet but he may well become so one day” – writes Graham Chalmers of the Harrogate Advertiser.

Jamie Bevan, Welsh born singer and local artist has proved that nothing is out of reach as he promotes his upcoming single ‘Docey Broke’ in aid of the Poppy Appeal at Montey’s Rock Café this Wednesday at 9pm.

Drawn to the underdogs and people who create things for themselves from a budding vision, we have been impressed with the melodic folksy tones and original songs that Jamie Bevan delivers and we wanted to be a part of his inspiring personal journey.

From the recording studio, to photography shoots, to meetings and to the places where he writes his music – a café where a robin visits and he feeds it from his palm, and his bedroom where a turtle called Rafelle watches, (just to name a few.) Release the Hounds have been watching Jamie’s process in creating his single and EP, and we can safely say that writing music from scratch and the countless hours in a recording studio is not for the faint hearted!

You can download the single at

Where Jamie writes – “When you buy a poppy, you remember the fallen and the heroes who died in the line of duty. You also help provide financial and other support to current and ex-service men and women who need it. The Royal British Legion provide their support all year round. 100% of the proceeds from this single are donated to the RBL.”

This Wednesday Jamie Bevan invites you for an acoustic night at Monteys Rock Café where you can listen to his new single, buy a cd, hear his upcoming EP and all proceeds go to the Royal British Legion as we remember and honour the fallen. Other amazing local talent includes – Rufus Beckett, Martin Rose and Adam Tait. All donations and proceeds go to the Royal British Legion in aid of the Poppy Appeal, and we hope to see you there!

Ripe for discovery, the most compelling solo artist we have seen in these neck of the woods, we cannot wait to see what happens next for this likeable chap!
