Ringing the changes at Release the Hounds Festival.
Old dog learns new tricks. Ringing the changes at Release the Hounds.
What a blast the last 3 years have been! It’s hard to believe that an idea that was conceived over a cup of tea and chocolate hobnob has taken us on such a fabulous journey.
Firstly our 3 day performance art festivals in Knaresborough in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Here we showcased not only big names in the world of performance poetry and devised pieces (Molly Naylor, Hollie McNish & Mike Garry for example!), but we brought fresh, emerging artists to our little town too. We’ve hosted the total legend that is John Cooper Clarke, an exceptional & unforgettable night! Not to be constrained by the spoken word, we’ve also supported up and coming local singer songwriters.
The original festival format has evolved and expanded and we now aim to spread the spoken word love throughout the year! There is simply too much wonderful talent out there to squeeze it into 3 days. We are currently trialling a series of pop up events in a variety of locations in the North.
We’re always delighted to hear from fellow oral art lovers so please get in touch if there’s anything or anyone in particular you’d like to see!
There’s one thing for sure, 2017 is looking bright!
